The idea of 3 Day Startup is simple: start tech companies over the course of three days. We reserve work space for an entire weekend, recruit 50 student participants from a wide range of backgrounds, cater food and drinks, and bring in top-notch entrepreneurs and investors. The participants pick the best ideas for startups during the Friday brainstorming session and deliver prototypes and investor pitches on Sunday night.
Come see the student startups' final pitches. More information at:

This program will review three severe electromagnetic threats that provide a serious challenge to the operation of the U.S. power grid. These include: a high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) attack produced by the detonation of a nuclear device in space; intentional electromagnetic interference (IEMI) produced by a nearby attack using new-technology electromagnetic weapons; and the exposure of the power grid from solar activity producing a severe geomagnetic storm on the Earth.
The presentation will review the electromagnetic characteristics of each threat, a summary of how these electromagnetic fields can create upsets and damage to power grid components and finally how the power grid can be protected from each of these threats, particularly here in Texas.

HOW Will You Handle the Drastic Pivot When Necessary?
Our focus for November is helping you recognize when shifting your gears will prevent your startup from dying.
We learned all about the J curve this summer with Howard Love. Now we will explore the pivot. You will hear how Lauren was able to identify a hidden value in her product's usage. She will share what it looked like at each stage, what was easily recognizable and what had to be uncovered to be beneficial in decision making.
As startup entrepreneurs, you will face a plethora of unknowns. Our mission at each month's Startup Grind's original fire-side chat is taking you beyond the surface conversation on that month's topic. We are tasked with bringing you straight forward conversations that help you be a better leader for your startup business.
Lauren will help you by taking you through what she was able to accomplish and how it has created success for Rust Patrol.
Bring you team November 9th and invest in preparing you all for success. Serving your customers, your team, and the world with your solution.
We'll be doing a small roundtable with O&G entrepreneurs. The goal of this roundtable will be to create a dialogue among those actively working on their startups/businesses. In order to promote interaction and create a productive conversation we will keep this group small.
